The case for copyright reform Week-5 To begin with, the second chapter of this article also covers the main idea which is copyright and the necessary changes which has to applied, in order to avoid to the inconveniences that have arisen. The author's thoughts are generally that there is a necessity for imposing restrictions on the duration and form of protection rights of the copyright holder especially the reason for the need for these protection restrictions are that copyright owner might somehow become unavailable after a certain period of time, and this in short, makes it almost impossible to reach the original product. In my opinion, the main message that the author is trying to convey is to make it as easy as possible for the non-copyrighted people to access the originals of the products.

Information Society Week-4 To start with, I want to mention the author Pekka Himanen. When I looked up about him, I got to know that he was the youngest person in Finland ever to obtain a PhD degree in the age of 20. He is a philosopher who is minored in computer science. He has completed a research work in world's leading universities such as University of Oxford, Stanford University, University of California and University of Berkeley. In this research work, he has indicated how our planet is already advanced in terms of technology and it is currently in the process of improving itself very rapidly. But while the change in the technology occurs, society must keep up with it, and always act in an up-to-date mentality. Specifically, he discusses models which are related to relevant issues and some which still exist in nowadays' world. They were "Silicon Valley", "Singapore" and "European" models. I believe the author tries to create the image that...

One new media component Week-3 Wikis Wikipedia is the leading wiki in today's world. It would help with your history homework, or art project. It is always there for you in case information about any specific topic is needed. Today getting misinformed about any subject is easier than ever. Wikis are one of the best options to provide you with the quality information. It gives you the right to cheat on your exam, or get to know about an article that you were interested in. Unfortunately, this causes Enclypoedias to be forgotten completely. If we have to compare Encyclopedias and wikis and find out why people seem to be more comfortable choosing wikis then firstly, they have search engines integrated. Simply, you can just type the specific topic/subject you are searching for. This will save plenty of time as you are immediately directed to the content that you are looking for. Secondly, information can be added, edited, and deleted by anybody. So it is always intended that the...

Obsolete and a relevant technology Week-2 DVDs The first technology I would like to mention is DVDs. Sounds familiar right? It is a digital optical disc data storage format invented in 1995 and released in late 1996. It definitely played a role in some period of most peoples lives. We used to go to these DVD stores to purchase the discs we wanted. Nowadays, we mostly prefer to digitize and save them on our local drive or media servers instead. Its not completely obsolete as there are still those who buy DVDs from Amazon, eBay or other shopping sites. While, It is easy to identify that DVDs are losing its popularity, even just from the fact that new laptops coming out usually not containing a DVD drive. YouTube We all heard about YouTube and its popularity. It definitely is the biggest video platform to ever exist. It also is the 2nd largest search engine next to Google. It's one of the most effective ways to reach a large audience, whether you're advertising a program or inform...

Three interesting examples of IT solutions from different decades Week-1 Touch ID It is an electronic fingerprint recognition feature which is created and published by Apple Inc in the late 2013's. It enables users to unlock devices, make purchases and authenticate Apple pay, etc. It first came out after the first release of Iphone 5S. In 2015, Apple introduced a faster second-generation version with a new Iphone 6s. Then in 2016, Apple integrated the Touch Id to the Macbook Pro on the right side of its touch bar. It is also used on Ipads since the Ipad Air 2 which was the first ever Ipad that had Touch Id. Users can create more than one fingerprints and use them at a time. Fingerprint information is stored locally in a secure enclave on the Apple A7 and later chips, not in the cloud, a design choice intended to make it impossible for users or malicious attackers to externally access the fingerprint information. Google It began in January 1996 as a research project by Larry Page a...
